Our gameslopedy.com solution center gets a lot of reports about this problem for RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard Game.
This is the solution to the problem of old CPUs that are not compatible with SSE4.1.
1_Download the SDE emulator from here:
2_Unpack the file with 7zip or winrar.
3_Copy and paste the content of the SDE folder into the Resident Evil 7 installation folder.
Example: "...\Steam\steamapps\common\RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard\"
4_Now start the game normally from Steam and go to the part before the crash occurs.
.4b_Now minimize the game with "Alt+Tab" or "Alt+Esc".
.4c_Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and open the Task Manager.
.4d_Go to the details tab, look for the process "Re7.exe" and look in the "Pid" tab and note that number, which is usually 4 numbers, for example: 6520 (varies by PC)
5_Now go to the game install folder and create a shortcut for SDE.exe
.5b_Right click on the shortcut and then on "Properties".
.5c_On destination, to the last places paste this script: -attach-pid 6520
It should look something like this:
"...\Steam\steamapps\common\ RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard\sde.exe" -attach-pid 6520 "
* The number "6520" will change you by your number.
.5d_Accept and save changes.
.5e_Now you execute that shortcut with "Administrator Permissions" and leave the execution open.
6_Re-open your game that you had minimized and continue the adventure; you will see that now you do not crash and you can continue playing normally!!!
Note: With SDE running the game may run slower, so use it only in the parts where the game crash, then wait until you find the save point and you can remove the SDE emulator. And if the game crashes again later, you return to this method.
Note 2: Each time the game is closed and restarted, change the PID number, so keep the Task Manager open, and go fix it, you modify the shortcut and re-execute it with administrator rights.
Note 3: You have to play with the SDE emulator open, until more or less pass the confrontation with MIA. We can get him out later.
